But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. - Jude 1:20-21 (KJV)
On Tha' Gettin Betta Show Coach Ed speaks about the importance of our generations and the part we play in them.
In this course we will address some of the key issues that plague us and contribute to the destruction of our Heavenly hope as Godly men.
I have a deep passion, conviction and desire to see men of all ages walking in freedom.
As a pastor of a family based church I spent 100’s of hours in men's ministry with men who often felt trapped, hurt, lost, condemned, and quite frankly ashamed of their lives.
So as a pastor I spent a lot of time praying, working and walking these men through discipleship training individually with multiple steps of deliverance & repentance. As a result many were healed and able to continue on with their lives in a powerful way!
Praise God for this!
However, over time the caseload, church work along with having my own wife & family was quite overwhelming and contributed to overwork and eventual burnout.
So in 2021 after over 20 years of faithful service I retired from Pastoring to focus on my family.
2021 was a tough year. My mom lost her husband, sweetheart, prayer partner and best friend on Fathers Day of 2021. And as tough as this was, the timing of our dads departure was also a “God wink.
I’ll explain more about this later.
So with all of this we made the choice to transition from pastoring to take care of mom and as well as our growing family.
But dad was not only my moms rock and the rock of our family. He was a
one of my best and closest friends.
We walked together in the Lord, we talked real talk about so many things including men’s purity accountability and responsibility.
One of my forever memories is when we repented both of us on our faces in the middle of a field for our generations participating in sexual sin. It was a defining moment for us all and it’s a big reason why I have been impressed to share my testimony.
In the wake of his death and my retirement I knew that there was something left for me to do.
And this is why I also considered dads passing a “God wink.” Him transitioning on Fathers Day seemed like a loving affirmation to me reminding me that God is the ultimate father. That living a life that honors Gods father hood and son ship should be a priority for all of us.
And that dad, with all of his faith in God if still here would be smiling at me with that famous big smile telling me “go son,” you can do it! You can do all things through HIM! I can see him pointing that right finger up while raising his right hand up high.
“Keep your hand, in The Masters Hand son!”
